A 52-yr-old white man had a history of a slowly growing mass in the right upper eyelid of 5 mo. duration, and a small growth at the inner corner of the left eye present for at least 4 yr. Pathological examination showed a dense, collageous connective tissue background infiltrated with focal collections of mononuclear cells that were characteristic of lymphocytes with no evidence of inflammation. The mass in the right upper eyelid was injected with a total of 110 mg of triamcinolone acetonide in an aqueous suspension (Kenalog-IM) in a 4 divided doses over a 10-wk period. The lesion completely regressed. The patient is being kept under surveillance at regular intervals for the possible development of lymphogenous leukemia or malignant lymphoma.
