The article describes the qualifying evaluation of pharmnaceutists in Russian universities introduced by the charters instituted in the first half of XIX century. The significance of well-established rules of full-time and correspondence trials of applicants for pharmaceutical degrees is considered The merits and shortcomings of correspondence form of qualification trials implementation are indicated.
