The case is reported to highlight the associated diseases of myasthenia gravis (MG). A number of diseases have been described in association with MG, many of which are recognised as autoimmune disorders. Thyroid diseases are reported in 6%. The exact percentage of vitiligo in myasthenia is not known. Recognition of the associated disease is important in management. Hyperthyroidism is known to worsen myasthenia. a plausible explanation for the effect is due to decrease in amplitude of MEPP demonstrated in hyperthyroid animals. The associated hyperthyroid state might have been responsible for the fast deterioration in this case.
