Surgical treatment of chronic pancreatitis

The results of surgical treatment of 198 patients, suffering chronic pancreatitis, were analyzed. In 83 (41.9%) patients pancreatic resection was performed, of them in 25--according to Whipple method, in 6--Traverso--Longmire, in 6--Beger, in 6--modified Beger, in 24--Frey and in 16--medial and distal resection; in 79 (39.9%)--operations for pancreatic pseudocysts were done (draining procedures). Good and fair results of surgical treatment were noted in 75.2% of patients.
