In terms of the right to be born, the time a fetus becomes a human remains controversial. Some feel that procedures to learn genetic defects could take away something from human welfare. The rights of the unborn change with the times. The law of real property requires that the recipient be viable even if not born. Some states require a child to be born alive for recovery for antenatal injury. In terms of the right to or not to produce, in the state of Tennessee, a married person under 18 or single and 18 or older, may make a written request to a qualified physician for sterilization. This legality removes the liability of the physician if he complies with the laws of the state. In the future, the physicians will be forced to find ways of strengthening patients' ability to adapt to changes in their environments, meet the mental stresses they encounter, and at the same time reproduce.
