Eissler's historical interest was reflected in numerous contributions to the Jahrbuch der Psychoanalyse, especially in two issues of its Beihefte, whose contents are outlined in this paper. After an interval of several years his emotional and scientific support was essential for the journal's relaunch. He became the most productive author of the Jahrbuch.
