The Agricultural Management Information System (AMIS) is a computerized information storage and retrieval system which was developed by the Northern Territory Department of Primary Production (DPP) to provide a standard format for supply work data to management at all levels. In this system all the work of the DPP is identified in projects arranged within a framework of programmes, and each has its own objectives to help achieve overall corporate objectives. Data for projects supplied through AMIS will be a basic building block for the Objectives Based Management System (OBMS). This manual provides a standardized format for filling out the AMIS Input Form which permits comparisons of different projects and also facilitates storage and retrieval. (There is another paper by the authors in this volume of WAERSA which is concerned with the OBMS).
