Article No. 32 of the Italian Constitution describes health as a fundamental human right in the interest of the community and guarantees free health care to the poor. It states that no one can be obliged to undergo any kind of treatment against his will, with the exception of cases where this is required by law. Supporting health includes also support for the quality of life. There are moral and economic reasons for granting health care. It is necessary to help those who suffer to live their lives with dignity.
