Tuberculosis of the common bile duct (CBD) is a rare occurrence. It is usually not considered in the differential diagnosis of patients presenting with obstructive jaundice. We present a case of peripancreatic tubercular lymphadenitis leading to CBD stricture which was successfully managed by antitubercular drugs and hepaticojcjunostomy. In conclusion our case highlights the importance of obtaining a tissue diagnosis in all patients with obstructive jaundice to avoid missing this rare albeit curable disease.
