My research interest was to create a new, simple and tractable mathematical framework for analysing fluctuating asymmetry (FA) in Aesculus hippocastanum palmately compound leaves (each compound leaf with 7 obviate, serrate leaflets). FA, being random differences in the development of both sides of a bilaterally symmetrical character, has been proposed as an indicator of environmental and genetic stress.
