Two cases of primary muscular hydatid cyst are described. The two patients, a 37-year-old woman (patient 1) and a 17-year-old girl (patient 2), were admitted to the Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital in Ankara, Turkey. On physical examination, a well-circumscribed, soft, semi-mobile mass 10x8 cm in diameter was palpable on the left posterior thigh of patient 1. In patient 2, the mass was 9x10 cm in diameter and was found on the left shoulder.
