Megaloblastosis in hematologic malignancy

In 17 patients with different haematological neoplasms there was no correlation between the degree of megaloblastosis and serum folacin or vitamin B-12 abnormalities. There was no clinical response to pharmacological doses of those vitamins. In patients who responded well to antineoplastic treatment, the anaemia was correlated without relation to initial megaloblastosis or serum folacin or vitamin B-12.
