Prevalence of congenital aural atresia (CAA) was studied in pediatric population of Republic Sakha Sakha-Yakutia. The diagnosis of CAA was made in 118 patients born in 1984-2004. CAA morbidity in children of Yakutia depended on national identity: overall morbidity was 3.1, in Yakuts - 5.3, in Russians - 1.9 per 10 000 newborns. CAA prevalence corresponded to ethnoterritorial characteristics of population. The highest prevalence occurred in the Arktic region (7.5 per 10,000), the lowest one - in Industrial region (0.24 per 10,000).
