Starting from university records, the author sketches the life of a representative of the Jewish-Russian intelligentsia who, like many of her female compatriots, studied in Switzerland and, instead of returning home, established herself in the Swiss psychiatric and psychoanalytic scene until 1938. A member of psychoanalytic societies since 1911, Mira Oberholzer-Gincburg was esteemed both as a person and an analyst by her colleagues, not least by Freud. The author deals with her few publications and quotes from Freud's unpublished letters to her.
