Isoenzyme studies in aborting and non-aborting Angora goats

Investigations on blood and liver samples from 158 Angora, Boer and crossbred goats with or without a predisposition to abort revealed there were no differences between the goats in qualitative enzyme pattern in the 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH), isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH), sorbitol dehydrogenase, or phosphoglucoisomerase systems, but there was some quantitative variation in LDH, ADH and IDH which may reflect differences of value for predicting abortions.
