Electron micrographs of pancreatic tissue from mice infected with infectious pancreatic necrosis virus were studied. Four specific cellular alterations were seen: appearance of intracytoplasmic vacuoles bordered by a membrane; presence of lysosomes in the perinuclear region; presence of suspected intracytoplasmic virions, and variation in nuclear staining between normal and infected tissues.
