This article reviews the behavioral symptoms commonly associated with dementia. The epidemiology, general characteristics and instruments used to evaluate these symptoms are briefly discussed. Details on a variety of behavioral and psychological symptoms are presented. Nonpharmacologic and pharmacologic therapeutic measures are also discussed.
