Aesthetic restorations in the posterior region must tolerate masticatory stresses and maintain an adequate amount of anatomic configuration at the occlusal and interproximal regions. Anterior prostheses must be durable, translucent, and versatile for use in areas that require significant color modifications or masking. Leucite-reinforced glassceramic materials have revolutionized the restorative armamentarium and enhanced the clinician's ability to deliver predictable porcelain laminate veneers, full-coverage crowns, inlays, and onlays. The incorporation of all-ceramic options, especially in the anterior region, has resulted in improved strength, durability, marginal integrity, color match, and wear resistance.
