506 carcinomas and 618 preneoplastic changes in the upper digestive tract were induced in rats by applications of 25 different N-nitroso compounds. This material was investigated under special aspects of the dignity of the tumours and the early changes in carcinogenesis, which were compared with the human carcinoma in situ.
