Epidemiology of rotaviral infections in children

Problems of rotavirus infections in children were presented. The rotaviral structure, features, epidemiology and clinical course of infection were discussed. Rotaviral infection plays an important role in the hospital settings. Passed rotaviral infection leaves the immunity. The most serious clinical course of rotaviral infection concerns children 6-24 months of age. In the Third World countries rotaviral infections are one of the most frequent causes of death in infants and toddlers. It is necessary to elaborate the effective anti-rotaviral vaccine.
