What is the best emergency treatment for children who ingest warfarin rodenticide?

18 online databases were searched to look for guidelines in treating children <=12 years old with accidental ingestion of warfarin rodenticide. Recommendations obtained were: for single ingestion or regular warfarin rodenticide, instruct the parents of the child to observe for delayed symptoms of coagulopathy; for large doses of warfarin, coagulation investigations may be done. Cautions about the possibility of delayed onset of bleeding symptoms, the increased risk of subsequent poison ingestion, and the need to watch for signs of Munchausen's syndrome by proxy are given.
