Of 233 female patients with vaginitis and other genital symptoms, 72 (30.9%) were positive in laboratory tests for Candida albicans. Of the 72, 45 were also positive for gonorrhoea, Trichomonas, or both, leaving only 27 (11.6%) of the 72 positive for C. albicans only.
