During the epidemic of human Japanese encephalitis in Burdwan district, West Bengal, India, an entomological study was made. In all, 5913 mosquitoes belonging to 40 spp. and genera were collected. The implications of the mosquitogenic and other ecological conditions to the epidemic situation were analyzed. [This study is relevant to vectorcontrol.].
