A challenging immunity was produced in canaries using an original canary pox field strain which was available as the 5th passage of a chick embryo fibroblast culture (KID60 10-6). The latter was diluted 1:1000 and applied into the wing web. In this dilution the virus still produced viraemia and generalization.
