A letter responds to the article by Guenin in the July 1 issue on the morality of using embryos in research. Guenin argued that, as, in spite of moral opposition, in vitro fertilizations do occur, researchers are morally justified in using such embryos. However, this argument is specious because, if it is wrong to create a "product" in the first instance, then it is also wrong to receive it and derive benefit from it. A reply is published.
