It is expedient to perform treatment of patients with the hydatic liver with special reference to the stage of the development of the parasite, the state of the fibrous capsule which can be established with the help of ultrasound examination both before and during the operation. The developed ultrasound classification of liver Echinococcosis allows taking into account all the stages and forms of the disease which is necessary for planning the optimum method of treatment. Using computed tomography and serological methods is justified in the situations more complex for diagnosis. In all the cases of exogenous development of echinococcal cysts the most radical method is thought to be maximum ablation of the fibrous capsule under control of intraoperative ultrasound investigation.
