An investigation into the relationship between seasonal migration of agricultural workers in West Bengal and changes in agrarian structures is presented. Different experiences of migration reflect different agrarian structures; but can also influence those structures. The quantitative importance of seasonal migration in the organization of agricultural production in West Bengal is highlighted. Data were collected through informal interaction with sampled workers during 1991/92 in Purulia and Bardhaman districts . Particular attention is given to changes in employer-employee relations.
