Two unusual cases of cryptococcal disease are reported from Pakistan . In the first case, a 16-year-old female student presented with a history of pyrexia and cough. Marked eosinophilia was noted but treatment with mebendazol was unsuccessful. The condition worsened with development of hemoptysis and acneform. Enlargement of the left cervical lymph node was observed during hospitalization and further examination revealed the presence of Cryptococcus neoformans. Treatment with amphotericin was successful. In the 2nd case, a 45-year-old diabetic housewife presented with fever, weight loss and a large swelling on the left breast. The condition was diagnosed as cryptococcal infection. Treatment with amphotericin and fluconazole proved successful.
