2 Wassermann (W.) test technics were used and the antigens were cholesterinized human heart and non-cholesterinized beef heart. The Kahn (K.) technic was as outlined by Kahn. In the leper group, the 2 tests checked in 95.8%, the K. was positive and W. negative in 0.4% and the K. negative and W. positive in 3.8% of the cases. In the non-leper group, the 2 tests checked in 92.63%, the K. was positive and W. negative in 4.93% and the K. negative and W. positive in 0.94% of the cases. The author concludes that the K. test gives fewer positive reactions in leprosy than the W. and that it is of importance to have both tests performed for a final result.
