The authors investigated the changes of EMG parameters at various loads in the group of dystrophic patients/DMP/. The results were compared with controls and with those obtained in s.c. myopathic group after excluding from this group the dystrophy as most severe process. The most sensitive diagnostic yield appears to have in DMP at 10-30% of maximal loading the F factor expressing the ratio of the amplitude to the density. These results could be explained by the important role played in DMP by increased polyphasia and abnormal spatial recruitment of new motor units. Applaying factor F authors were able to differentiate within myogenic group DMP patients from other myopathies.
