Changes in the size structure and function of small family farms and farm households as a result of growing urbanization; are discussed. Sociological research has indicated that there are no essential structural differences between farming and non-farming family households. However, the degree of urbanization and industrialization does differentiate family types. There are gradual differences which are part of the normal social development process.
