Retrospective analysis of the case records, roentgenograms of 128 patients with destructive pulmonary tuberculosis and diabetes mellitus was conducted. Nontimely diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis, the diabetes mellitus course severity, nonadequate correction of metabolic disorders, resistance of Micobacterium tuberculosis to chemopreparations, bad compliance of preparations, scornful attitude of patients to treatment were the main causes of the conservative therapy low efficacy. In the majority of patients 2-4 causes coexisted, leading to lack of the therapy efficacy.
