A project to develop an integrated biotechnology information service, termed ADLIB (Advanced Database Linkages in Biotechnology), is now in its 2nd year of execution. It is being developed and tested by a team of companies and public sector bodies, including database producers (such as CAB International, Elsevier and INIST), a database host (DIMDI) and primary publishers. The aims of ADLIB and its system architecture are described.
