Vaginal stricture in llamas may develop after dystocia. Surgical repair can be attempted, but stricture may recur. Vaginal lesions in humans have been excised, using carbon-dioxide lasers. Use of carbon-dioxide lasers in llamas may result in less tissue desiccation and subsequent adhesion formation than use of conventional surgical techniques.
