In this communication Austroboletus gracilis (Pk.) Wolfe is described and illustrated for the first time from India. The species has been collected on humus and leaf litter under Cedrus deodara Hook. and Quercus incana Roxb., repeatedly during July-August (once during October) from different parts of Himachal Pradesh. The species has been reported to be edible in literature, but is not consumed locally.
