In this issue, C. F. Turner and colleagues provide an ingenious demonstration of a way in which computers can improve the quality of data collected for empirical social science research. The researchers show that with sensitive issues such as adolescent sexual behavior and drug use, computerized data may give rise to more accurate data than those gathered by self-administered, nonelectronic questionnaires.
