The diagnosis of osteoporosis implies skeletal fragility and increased risk of fracture. Making the diagnosis is very much dependent on measurement techniques. Understanding concepts of T and Z scores in interpreting results is essential and the need for care in interpreting post treatment follow up bone densitometry results is explained.
