Cardiac catheterisation can be performed successfully as a day-case procedure. A reduction in the time spent in hospital limits the time available for consultation between patients and hospital staff. Research into patient opinions and levels of satisfaction can help improve patient care and evaluate the effectiveness of changes to care.
