Normal supportive husbandry and antibiotic therapy of 48 cases was supplemented by, in alternate cases, a post-parturient uterine lavage with 0.5 litre of normal saline at 40 deg C, at first clinical examination. Two later examinations revealed no significant difference between the two groups.
