Easily accessible 2,5-diketopiperidines have been used as templates for the construction of Trp-Phe and Trp-Asp-Phe-NH-2 mimics. The cycle (L-Trp-PSI(COCH-2)-L-Phe) analogue 1a has shown to possess significant and selective affinity for CCK-A receptors.
