Age-related dynamics of the level of maximum oxygen consumption (MOC) was studied in 18-95-year-old essentially healthy men with various levels of motor activity. Regular linear decrease in the level of MOC with age was observed. The level of the age-related decrease in MOC during cross-sectional study was found to be 0.46 ml cntdot kg-1 cntdot min-1 cntdot year-1. The use of factor analysis made it possible to establish that age factor, level of motor activity and anthropometric parameters comprised 58%, 23%, and 12%, respectively, in the variability of MOC in essentially healthy men.
