The authors have analyzed therapeutic pathomorphosis of carcinoma of the ovaries in 66 patients depending on the number of courses received and histological structure of the tumour. It has been established that the most serous carcinoma of the ovaries does not practically respond to the one course of chemotherapy while its metastases to the omentum do so better. Increase in the number of courses of chemotherapy promotes regression of primary tumour. Carcinoma mucosum is scarcely amenable to one course of chemotherapy as well, and like other carcinomas requires polychemotherapy and choice of chemotherapeutic agents to suit individual patients. Highly responsive to chemotherapy are dysgerminoma and clear cell carcinoma. As to the other histological forms of carcinoma, they are not treatable by chemotherapy, which fact attests to the need of searching for various and different means capable of influencing the carcinoma of the above localization.
