OBJECTIVES: Verrucous carcinoma, a variant of squamous cell carcinoma accounts for 5%-8% of all penile tumors. The unique histological features and behaviour of this tumor type prompted us to report these two cases. METHODS/RESULTS: We report on two patients aged 77 and 81 years who underwent partial nephrectomy. The literature is briefly reviewed and the therapeutic aspects are discussed. CONCLUSIONS. Its unique histological features, the presence of a greater number of desmosomes, well-organized cells, make it highly well-defined and confer a benign nature to this tumor type. Radiotherapy does not appear to be useful and the treatment of choice is by surgery.
