Management of the vast volume of documents and data that must be maintained in an EPRS requires well designed architecture that can manage the complexities involved in allowing secure, long-term storage of the information combined with speed of access necessary to please users. This calls for a tightly integrated platform of hardware and software components that are optimized to work in the health information environment.
