Among the human resource issues resulting from diversity, hiring and selection will be a challenge for nurse managers. Evaluating potential employee ability, as well as offering training and supervision, provides new challenges and opportunities with a cross-cultural workforce. Competency in handling such issues in the face of rapidly changing demographics is essential for the nurse manager to be effective. The value is in providing culturally congruent care in a multicultural world.
