Histoplasmosis of the common palmar tendon sheath

A case of Histoplasma capsulatum infection involving the common palmar sheath of the long flexors of the fingers, without bone involvement, is recorded. Apparently total excision of the diseased sheaths was followed by recurrence of the disease a year later. Re-excision, followed by a course of therapy with amphotericin B, was successful and there has been no recurrence in 4 yr.
