Three million adolescent females are in need of relevant and effective contraceptive services. Effective care begins by respecting an adolescent as an adolescent, with constantly changing physical and emotional states. The entire scope of contraception in the adolescent girl is considered, including the personal psychological factors, peer group pressure, increased sexual awareness and the choice of contraceptive methods.
