10 mg medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) were administered on day 5 of pseudopregnancy to long-term hysterectomised females . The results indicated that MPA dissociates functional luteolysis from the rise in basal LH levels before pro-oestrus, and that MPA does not affect the functional lifespan of corpora lutea.
