Between 1987 and 1991, we operated on 13 patients with 14 palmar space infections of the hand. Twelve of them were evaluated after a mean follow up of 33 months. Analysis points out the importance of early and sufficient surgical intervention. Seven out of ten cases showed a good or very good result, three ending with a fair result.
