Our clinical experience with E2 prostaglandins in intracervical gel and vaginal tablets to induce deliveries or abortions with dead fetuses is presented. The overall success rate of 50 patients was 70%, excluding 9 cases of anencephalos fetuses; the rate is increased to 77.7% in the cases of retained abortions and to 78.3% in the cases of dead fetuses in uterus after 20 weeks of gestation.
